Sepia Saturday 93

I've taken the Sideburns as the theme for this week, because I happen to like side-whiskers and tashes.  I found this whilst perusing "Sideburns" in Flickr;

Even though I looked, I wasn't sure what was so great.  Personally I think the whiskers are great but I don't go a bundle on the "Barnets".  Just maybe it's through wearing hats.

This next set, I'm sure, are on the face of an actor but I don't know who - if it is, then I'm sure the film buffs out there will be able to give identity to him.

It is my deeply held view that most male faces are enhanced by a little adornment, but that is not a 100% truism, because a certain consideration has to be given to the adornment matching the fizzog itself.  Unlike this where -  well I let you make up your own mind
Unless he wears a wig, a little too much has been done with the boot-black or the low-lights in his hair.
And finally, with all the style that only nature can contrive;

  1. You had me rolling on the floor laughing with this one! Not sure I'd go for any of those burns. Made my day. Thanks!

  5. It wouldn't be the first time nor the last time we take our cues for fashion from animals, pets.....

  6. The Minnesota Twins baseball gave away fake sideburns once. The sideburns were replicas of those that one of the star players had.

  7. Anpother take on sideburns and the like! The man in the 2nd photo whether or not an actor sure does appear to be serious about something. Perhaps someone commented, "get a shave" and he replied, "are you kidding me?"

    Fun

  9. Am I the only one who remembers when the style of the man in blue was all the rage in England?

  10. Some they suit, some they don't! The monkey does it best. :)

  11. Sideburns go up, sideburns do down. Most of the time I don't even notice what's in fashion. The only sideburns I notice these days are on the character Starburst on the sitcom Community.

  13. I agree - the monkey does it best. They look good on certain terriers too.

  14. I can recall a time when I was approaching my teen years that my dad still wore the large sideburns popular in the 70s. Oh how I agonized that he would never shave them, and then one day he did! I rather miss his furry face now, fickle girl that I am.

  15. I've had a tashe ever since I was a teenager and can't imagine my face without it. One day maybe I will shave it off and start a whole new phase of my life. Never gone in for sideburns though : even when I had a beard as a youth, nowt much grw down the side.
